The Ron Thon Memorial takes place this weekend as 45 Wyoming teams are slated to compete against each other. The memorial has occurred for two decades. The tournament is named after Ronald Francis Thon who died Aug. 12, 1999. Thon was a counselor and head wrestling coach for Riverton. In 1997, Thon was awarded by the Wyoming Coach Association for his services. Thon also was an ambassador for a peer-mentor program and served on the Board of Trustees for Central Wyoming College.
