Wyoming Legion Baseball Scoreboard: July 27 – Aug. 2, 2020
The regular season of Wyoming Legion Baseball will conclude this week.
The eight teams at the Class ‘AA’ level will finish their conference slate for seeding purposes into the state tournament in Rock Springs, Aug. 5-9.
Single-A will have their state tournament in Powell, Aug. 1-5. That schedule and scoreboard are featured in a separate story.
Monday, July 27:
Final Score: Casper 8 Jackson 5 – conference game - Oilers scored 4 in the 5th & 3 in the 6th to rally and pick up the victory. Hack had 2 hits & 3 RBI's to lead Casper.
Final Score: Jackson 12 Casper 4 – conference game - Bruno with 3 hits (2-2B) & 3 RBI's, as the Giants gain the split on the road.
Final Score: Cheyenne 2 Gillette 1 – conference game - Onisto goes the distance for the win on the mound. Runs in the 1st & 4th were enough for the Sixers.
Final Score: Gillette 6 Cheyenne 2 – conference game - Richards with a 2-run 2B, while Lewis and Race had an RBI. Riders scored 3 in the 4th and 3 more in the 6th.
Final Score: Sheridan 11 Miles City, MT 10 - Rees with the GW RBI-1B in the 7th. Dubberley had 4 hits to lead the Troopers.
Final Score: Sheridan 4 Miles City, MT 0 - Troopers sweep at home. Greer with 2-2B and a home run & 3 RBI's.
Tuesday, July 28:
Final Score: Greeley GOJO's 11 Cheyenne 7 - Greeley scored 6 runs in the 1st and held off a Sixers comeback attempt.
Final Score: Cheyenne 8 Greeley GOJO’s 1 - Redman & Lobmeyer with 3 hits & 2 RBI's apiece.
Wednesday, July 29:
Final Score: Sheridan 5 Gillette 3 – conference game - Dubberly with 3 hits & Roush 2 RBI's for the Troopers.
Final Score: Sheridan 1 Gillette 0 – conference game [9 inns.] - An error on a fielder's choice led to the winning run in the 9th, as the Troopers complete the sweep.
Thursday, July 30:
Final Score: Rock Springs 9 Casper 8 – conference game - Sand Puppies rally for game 1 win. Hamblin with 2 hits (2B) & 3 RBI's for Rock Springs.
Final Score: Casper 8 Rock Springs 0 – conference game - Browning & Clair combine on a 6-hit shutout. Roberts adds 2 hits & 2 RBI's at the plate, as the Oilers secure the No. 3 seed from the West at the state tournament next week.
Final Score: Gillette 3 Laramie 2 – conference game - Riders scored 2 in the 1st and hold on. Lynde & Richardson 2 hits each, Powell had 2 RBI's.
Final Score: Gillette 9 Laramie 4 – conference game - Riders clinch the East Conf. title. Gillette scored 7 runs in the 3rd & 4th to break it open. Powell with 3 hits (2-2B) & 3 RBI's.
Friday, July 31:
Final Score: Cheyenne 8 North Platte, NE 1 (in Scottsbluff, NE) - Sixers score 6 in the 6th inning for the win. Johnson with 2 hits (3B) & 3 RBI's.
Final Score: Cheyenne 10 Westco Zephyrs (Scottsbluff, NE) 5 - Sixers scored 8 runs over the final 3 innings to secure the win. Johnson 2 hits (2B) & 4 RBI's. Vite had 4 hits & 1 RBI.
Final Score: Jackson 5 Evanston 3 – conference game - a 5-run 6th-inning helps the Giants rally for a key league win.
Final Score: Jackson 11 Evanston 9 – conference game - Giants get the conference sweep. Had an 11-2 lead and held off an Outlaws rally in the 7th. Bleggi & Ashurts with 3 hits & 2 RBI's each.
Saturday, Aug. 1:
Final Score: Evanston 14 Jackson 13 - Outlaws built a 10-4 thru 4.5 innings. Giants rally with 7 in the 5th for an 11-10 lead. Evanston scores 3 in the 7th to prevail. Beus with 4 hits (2B) & 4 RBI's for the Outlaws.
