Only a few weeks remain in the 2023 regular season for the American Legion Baseball teams in Wyoming.

This is Week 14 of the season. There is a surge of conference games over the next few weeks before teams get to the postseason.

Douglas has the biggest tournament with their wood bat Bolln’ Tournament, Friday through Sunday. Cheyenne hosts another event this weekend, while Gillette is out of state.

TUESDAY, JULY 4:

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 12 Jackson 3 (conference game) - a 4-run 2nd gave the Sixers the lead for good. Colter McAnelly had 2 hits, incl. 1 HR, & drove in 5 runs.

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 11 Jackson 6 (conference game) - after Jackson took leads of 4-1 and 6-5, Cheyenne tied it in the 6th and scored 5 in the 7th for the win. Romero, Williams, & Pearson each had 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Pearson hit 1 HR.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 5:

Final Score: Cheyenne Hawks 11 Sheridan Jets 8 - 8 runs over the first 2 innings by Cheyenne was too much of a lead. Dierks had 3 hits & 3 RBIs for the Hawks. Garrett hit a solo HR.

Final Score: Cheyenne Hawks 6 Sheridan Jets 1 - a 5-run 4th keyed the Hawks to the sweep. Barrington had 3 hits & drove in 1 run. Ruskanen allowed 1 run on 3 hits over 5IP.

Final Score: Gillette Riders 5 Jamestown, ND 4 - the Riders got out to a 5-1 lead and held off an Eagles comeback. Drube had 1 hit & 1 RBI. Gillette was out-hit 11-3 but had 7 walks and took advantage of 3 errors.

Final Score: Sheridan Cavalry 9 Buffalo 4 - Bulls didn't hold 1-0 & 3-2 leads. Newman had 1 hit & 2 RBIs for Buffalo.

Final Score: Sheridan Cavalry 8 Buffalo 6 - a 3-run 2nd put the Cavalry in the lead for good. A Bulls rally fell short. Lambert had 2 hits, 2 RBIs, and 2 SBs.

Final Score: Casper Drillers 17 Wheatland 6 (conference game) - the Drillers 7-runs in the 3rd to take control and capped it with 6 in the 6th. Parks had 3 hits (2B) & 4 RBIs, and Logan added 2 hits & 4 RBIs for Casper.

Final Score: Wheatland 11 Casper Drillers 9 (conference game) - a 4-run 6th pushed the Lobos to the split. Suko had 2 hits & 2 RBIs for Wheatland.

Final Score: Cody 4 Lovell 1 (conference game) - the Cubs scored 1 in the 1st and added 2 in the 6th and 1 more in the 7th. Phillips had 1 hit & 3 RBIs. T. Schroeder added 3 hits. Thomasson allowed 1 unearned run on 2 hits with 9 Ks.

Final Score: Cody 11 Lovell 0 (conference game) - the Cubs scored 5 runs in the 1st two innings and never looked back. Thomasson had 3 hits & 2 RBIs. Carlson added 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Trey Schroeder tossed a 4-hit shutout with 13 Ks.

Final Score: Green River 14 Evanston 13 (conference game) - a 3-run 7th helped the Knights rally to win. Brown's RBI groundout was the game-winner. Welch had 3 hits & 2 RBIs for GR.

Final Score: Evanston 7 Green River 6 (conference game) - an error led to Evanston's go-ahead run. The Outlaws rallied from a 5-0 deficit. Rich had 2 hits (HR) & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Gillette Rustlers 11 Belle Fourche, SD 4 - the Rustlers scored 10 of their runs in 3 frames. Black had 2 doubles & 2 RBIs. Gillette took advantage of 11 walks & 6 errors.

Final Score: Belle Fourche, SD 8 Gillette Rustlers 7 - a run in the bottom of the 7th was the difference for the Broncs. Kuhbacher had 2 hits & 2 RBIs in the loss for Gillette.

Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 7 Powell 6 - 2 runs in the 4th was the difference for Sheridan. Stowe had 2 hits (HR) & 2 RBIs. Brown added 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Queen had 4 hits & 2 RBIs in the loss for Powell.

Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 4 Powell 3 - the Troopers took a 4-1 lead early and held on. Greer had a 2-run triple, while Hamrick added 2 hits & 1 RBI. Both teams had 8 hits. The Pioneers could not overcome 5 errors.

THURSDAY, JULY 6:

Final Score: Pocatello Runnin' Rebels 7 Jackson 2 (9-inning game) - Rebels scored 6 runs over the last 2 innings to pull out the win. A. Gralund had 3 hits & 1 RBI for the Giants.

Final Score: Mountain View 3 Cheyenne Hawks 1 - Lions win low-scoring, pitcher's duel. The Hawks were held to 4 hits. Hauf had an RBI hit.

Final Score: Mountain View 7 Cheyenne Hawks 6 - a Hawks rally fell just short. B. Kamarad added 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Dierks hit a HR.

Mountain West Tournament in Cheyenne

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 11 Rocky Mountain Oysters 5 - a 4-run 2nd put the Sixers in front for good. C. McAnelly had a double, 2 triples & 3 RBIs. Williams added 3 hits, while Tafoya added 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

FRIDAY, JULY 7:

Final Score: Casper Oilers 14 Rock Springs 2 (conference game) - Casper scored 9 runs in the 4th to put this one away. Smith had 3 hits (HR) & 5 RBIs.

Final Score: Casper Oilers 9 Rock Springs 1 (conference game) - the Oilers jumped out to a 3-0 lead and pulled away for the road sweep. Wilcox had 3 hits (2B, 3B) & 2 RBIs. Hauck added 3 hits & 1 RBI.

Final Score: Casper Drillers 3 Gering, NE 1 - a 3-run 4th was all the Drillers needed. teDuits allowed 0 runs on 0 hits over 6 inns. with 5 Ks.

Final Score: Casper Drillers 8 Gering, NE 3 - after a 3-2 lead, the Drillers scored the next 5 runs to pull away. Bailey had 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Galles contributed 2 hits & 1 RBI.

Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 14 Laramie 4 (conference game) - the Troopers pulled away over the last 3 innings with 9 unanswered runs after an early 5-3 lead. Stowe & Waugh had 2 hits & 3 RBIs each. Sheridan also took advantage of 9 Laramie errors. Branch had 1 hit & 4 RBIs for Laramie.

Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 5 Laramie 1 (conference game) - Troopers broke a 1-1 tie with 4 runs in the 5th inning. Hutton, Hamrick, & Stowe had 1 hit & 1 RBI apiece. Stowe allowed 1 run on 3 hits with 13 Ks.

Final Score: Torrington 11 Buffalo 3 (conference game) – resuming game suspended June 22 - The Tigers added 3 more runs and finished off the conference win. Hackbarth and Long both drove in 2 runs. DePoorter had 1 hit & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Evanston 14 Rawlins 7 (conference game) - the Outlaws got out to a quick 8-3 lead and got the win. Osborn had 3 hits (2B) & 4 RBIs.

Final Score: Evanston 8 Rawlins 1 (conference game) - five runs over the first 2 innings propelled the Outlaws to a road sweep. Oliver had 2 hits (2B) & 3 RBIs, while Osborn contributed 2 hits (2B) & 2 RBIs. Bauer & Oliver combined to allow 1 run on 2 hits with 10 Ks.

Final Score: Cody 20 Lander 6 (conference game) - the Cubs got out to a quick 10-1 lead through the first two innings and rolled to the win. Thomasson had 2 doubles & 4 RBIs.

Final Score: Cody 11 Lander 1 (conference game) - Cody used a 6-run 3rd inning for the sweep. Phillips had 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Reinker went 5 inns. for the win and allowed 1 run on 3 hits.

Bolln Wood Bat Tournament in Douglas

Final Score: Torrington 7 Wheatland 6 (8 inns.) - the Tigers had a walk-off, extra-inning win on Firminhac's RBI single. He had 3 total hits. That was part of 2 runs in the 8th. Short had the tying RBI single and also finished with 3 hits.

Final Score: Douglas 5 Buffalo 2 - two runs in each of the 1st 2 innings helped the Cats to the win. Boyson & Holler each had 2 hits. Sullivan had an RBI hit.

Mountain West Tournament in Cheyenne

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 2 970 Sun Devils (CO) 0 - C. McAnelly had 14 Ks in a 5-hit shutout. L. McAnelly had an RBI single, and Cheyenne took advantage of 6 walks.

Gopher Classic in Minnesota – Eden Prairie Site

Final Score: Eden Prairie, MN1 Gillette Riders 0 - Riders fall on 1 run in the 4th. Hecker had 2 of Gillette's 3 hits.

SATURDAY, JULY 8:

Final Score: Casper Oilers 10 Jackson 4 (conference game) - 7 runs in the 3rd & 4th was the difference for Casper. Nielsen had 3 hits & 3 RBIs. Wilcox provided 3 hits (3B) & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Casper Oilers 8 Jackson 2 (conference game) - a 4-run 4th broke the game open for the Oilers. Smith had 1 hit & 2 RBIs. Locklin added 2 hits. Berens allowed 2 unearned runs on 3 hits with 8 Ks over 6IP.

Final Score: Powell 9 Wheatland 1 - the Pioneers scored 4 in the 1st and added 5 runs in the 2nd. Stenerson homered among his 2 hits & drove in 4.

Final Score: Powell 9 Torrington 1 - after the Tigers took a 1-0 lead, the Pioneers scored the next 9 runs. Queen had 2 HRs and drove in 5. Stenerson added 1 HR.

Final Score: Green River 11 Buffalo 5 - four runs in the 3rd and five in the 4th pushed the Knights to the win. Reinig had 2 hits (HR) & 5 RBIs. Lail added 3 hits & 1 RBI.

Final Score: Green River 4 Douglas 1 - Lee allowed 1 unearned run on 3 hits in a complete game. He had 7 Ks. The Knights broke a 1-1 tie with 3 in the 6th. They scored on a wild pitch, a balk, and an RBI single by Lail.

Mountain West Tournament in Cheyenne

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 10 Cheyenne Mountain, CO 9 - catcher's interference allowed the winning run to score. Cheyenne scored 4 in the 7th to win it. Romero had 3 hits & 5 RBIs.

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 11 Grand Junction, CO 1 - Cheyenne used a 6-run 2nd to break it open. Swaen had 2 hits & 3 RBIs.

Gopher Classic in Minnesota – Eden Prairie Site

Final Score: Gillette Riders 7 Sioux Falls West, SD 4 - a 4-run 6th carried Gillette to the win. Drube had 1 hit & 2 RBIs. R. Schilling added 2 hits & drove in 1.

Final Score: Gillette Riders 7 Wayzata, MN 4 - a 6-run 6th helped the Riders to the win. C. Schilling had 3 hits & 2 RBIs.

SUNDAY, JULY 9:

Final Score: Cody 16 Lewistown, MT 2 - T. Schroeder had 3 hits (3B) & 2 RBIs for Cody. Johnston added 2 hits & 2 RBIs, while Thomasson contributed 3 RBIs. Hartley got the win on the mound.

Final Score: Lewistown, MT 12 Cody 11 - the Cubs blow a 7-run lead. Lewistown walks it off on a 2-run 2B.

Final Score: Jackson 17 Cheyenne Hawks 2 (conference game) - the Giants broke open a 3-1 game with 14 runs in the 6th. A. Gralund had 4 hits & 2 RBIs. Fisher finished with 2 hits (2B) & 5 RBIs. Jackson took advantage of 11 walks & 4 errors. Garner got the win on the mound. He allowed 2 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits with 8 Ks.

Final Score: Jackson 17 Cheyenne Hawks 7 (conference game) - L. Gralund hit 2 HRs among 5 hits & 8 RBIs. Kostial added 3 hits & 3 RBIs for Jackson. The Giants used a 7-run 4th to take control and had 18 total hits.

Final Score: Torrington 7 Green River 1 - Tigers reach the title game at the Bolln tournament. A 4-run 2nd put them in front for good. Firminhac had 2 hits for Torrington, who took advantage of 7 walks & 4 GR errors.

Final Score: Powell 4 Douglas 3 - the Pioneers led 4-0 thru 4 innings and held off a Cats comeback. Johnson had 2 hits (HR, 2B) & 1 RBI. Johnson was also the winning pitcher with 12 Ks over 6 IP. Kejr had 2 hits & 1 RBI for Douglas.

Final Score: Torrington 5 Powell 4 [championship] - the Tigers rallied with 2 in the top of the 7th for the win. Firminhac had the tying RBI 3B. Hibben had the go-ahead RBI single. Firminhac finished with 4 hits. Johnson had 2 hits (2B, HR) & 3 RBIs in the loss for Powell.

Gopher Classic in Minnesota – Eden Prairie Site

Final Score: Gillette Riders 8 Omaha Central (NE) 0 - the Riders scored in 4 straight innings for the win. Killian had 3 hits & 1 RBI. Partlow threw a 3-hit shutout.

Final Score: Gillette Riders 12 Apple Valley, MN 2 - a 6-run top of the 7th broke it wide open for the Riders. Tystad had 3 hits & 3 RBIs. They also took advantage of 8 errors.
