2020 Wheatland Volleyball Wrap
Wheatland punched their ticket to the 3A State Tournament with a 3-1 win over Torrington in the Southeast Quad Regional so they entered State as the #3 seed from the East. Wheatland ended up playing eventual state champion Mountain View in the first round of the state tournament and lost that match 25-17, 25-16, and 25-10. In the consolation bracket, the Bulldogs were eliminated by Lander in 3 straight; 25-9, 25-20, and 25-21.
Wheatland posted a 15-10 season and has one player earn the all-state distinction and that was Kendall Schaffner. Kami Hemthorn and Grace Battershell were named all-conference in 3A and while Hemthorn was a senior this season, Schaffner was just a sophomore and so was Battershell. There's a solid foundation for this program to be successful in 2021.
