For just the 2nd time in the last 16 years, Dubois earned a spot at the 1A State Boys Basketball tournament and they were a formidable group. The Rams had 3 players who averaged in double figures during the course of the season. Max Claar threw in 16 points per game, Jaryd Wells, also threw in 16 a contest and Ryan Wells averaged 14 per game. Claar and Jaryd Wells were named all-state with Ryan Wells earning all-conference distinction.

In the quarterfinal round of the state tournament, Dubois took on Kaycee and in back and forth game, the Rams prevailed 65-58. Ryan Wells had 23 in that game, Jaryf Wells had 18 and Clayton Rux chipped in 12. In the 1A semi-finals, Dubois drew a powerful Upton team and it didn't turn out well for the Rams as they lost 73-31. Max Claar was the only player in double figures for Dubois with 20.

So in the 4th place game, it was Dubois vs. Southeast and the Rams made a game of it after trailing by as many as 13 but fell to the Cyclones 61-55. Jaryd Wells was terrific in that game with 27 points as he connected on a half a dozen 3 pointers. Ryan Wells aided the Ram cause with 19.

Looking ahead, Dubois should be strong next season too. They'll lose Jaryd Wells to graduation but Claar will be a senior in 2021-22 and Ryan Wells will be a junior. Be sure and check out our short video of the Dubois Rams. Enjoy!
