The Moorcroft girls basketball team spent a portion of the 2020-21 season ranked #1 in 2A and entered their regional tournament as a number one seed. They left the tournament as a #3 seed after a win over Big Horn, a loss to Sundance, and then a win over Pine Bluffs.

In their opening-round game at the state tourney, the Wolves got off to a rough start in their match-up with Rocky Mountain and lost 47-40. Moorcroft trailed at one point 18-8 but got back in the game as they outscored the Grizzlies 17-5 in the 3rd quarter. Rocky put the pedal to the metal in the 4th quarter to put the game away. Talissa Fischbach had 13 for the Wolves with Kyanna Petz and Camlyn Connelly chipping in 10 apiece.

In the consolation round, Moorcroft lost a close game to Big Piney 63-59 to end the season with a record of 18-5. Talissa Fischbach once again led the way, this time with 21, Kailee Gill had 15 and Camlyn Connelly had 11. Moorcroft attempted an astounding 47, 3 pointers, and made 13. This was not the end of the season that this team was looking for but the program has won 39 games over the course of 2 years with 2 state tournament appearances. Prior to that, the Wolves did not qualify for the state tournament for 13 years.

Kyanna Petz was named all-state as she averaged 13 points a game and another all-stater was Kailee Gill who threw in 11 a game. Talissa Fischbach earned all-conference designation and all three of those players will return next season. That, in itself, will make Moorcroft a team to watch in 2021-22.
