The Sundance girls basketball team was a balanced squad with no player averaging more than 8 points a game. One player threw in 6 points per contest and three other players averaged 5 points a game.

The Bulldogs entered the state tournament in Casper and played 3 close games. In the quarterfinal round, they prevailed over Shoshoni  47-40 in overtime. This was a  game where they trailed by as many as 9 points with Baillee Heaster led the Bulldogs with 12 while Aftyn Marchant had 11. Between the 4th quarter and overtime, Sundance outscored Shoshoni 22-11.

In the 2A semi-final round, Sundance met up with eventual state champion Wyoming Indian and lost that contest 46-38. The Bulldogs trailed by as many as 12 but were outscored the 4th quarter 12-6. Negaard led the way with 10 points and 11 rebounds and Marchant had 8.

Sundance played Lusk for 3rd place and the Bulldogs prevailed 46-41 thanks to a solid 2nd quarter where they outscored the Tigers 15-6. Cana McInerney led the Bulldogs with 1, while Bailey Hofland and Nevada Gill had 10 each. Sundance finished the season with a record of 14-9.

Marchant and Heaster were named all-conference and along with Negaard, the team loses its 1-2-3 punch to graduation. The future goes look good for the program with 4 seniors expected to be on the roster in 2021-22. Take a look at our short video we have on this team, Enjoy!
