The Torrington girls basketball team turned on the jets in the 3A East Regional tournament after an up and down regular season. The Blazers went 2-1 in that regional tourney with wins over Rawlins and Wheatland and then a loss to Douglas. So those wins gave Torrington a #2 seed at the state tournament in Casper.

Their quarterfinal round game vs. Worland was a tough endeavor as the Blazers were defeated 47-28. Reece Halley was the only Torrington player in double figures with 10 as the team as a whole shot 20% from the floor. In the consolation round, the Blazers were eliminated by their rival, Wheatland 57-34 to end the season 11-12. Halley once again was the only Blazer player in double-figures with 14 as the team shot just 21% from the field.

Halley is a two-time all-state selection who averaged 15 points and 9 rebounds per game. Sierra Allen averaged 7 points a game and was named all-conference and Mattie Jones was named all-conference. The good news for Torrington is that those three players return in 2021-22 plus A.J. West who averaged 7 points a game this past season. This year's squad had just 2 seniors. Next year, they'll have six. Take a look at our short video of this team from the state tournament!
