Four multi-time state champion wrestlers earned the WyoPreps Athlete of the Week accolades, presented by Premier Bone and Joint Centers. Following their performances last week, Feb. 24-March 1, 2025, Sheridan senior Becca Oetken, Cheyenne East senior Liam Fox, Kemmerer senior Roany Proffit, and Lingle-Ft. Laramie/Southeast senior Nathan Fish received the weekly honor. Oetken made history in girls’ wrestling, and the three boys joined the four-time champions club at the 2025 state championships in Casper.

Becca Oetken became the first girls’ wrestler to win three state championships last weekend when she won her second title in a row at 190 pounds. The senior from Sheridan pinned her first opponent in 24 seconds. In her quarterfinal, Oetken pinned her opponent in 56 seconds. The semifinal was another pin at 1:14. WyoPreps spoke with Oetken about how she made state history, how she wrestled in the state championships, whether redemption was on her mind in the finals, how she got into wrestling, and more.

Boys Winners
Liam Fox, Roany Proffit, and Nathan Fish became the 31st, 32nd, and 33rd wrestlers in state history to win four championships on the mat in their prep career. Fox captured the 157-pound title in Class 4A. He pinned two opponents and had two tech falls against his other two opponents. Fish finished first at 120 pounds in Class 2A.
