The WyoPreps Athlete of the Year Award is presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming and in cooperation with Wyldgear. Our first honor in volleyball goes to Laramie senior Maddy Stucky. She capped an outstanding career by leading her team to another title and has racked up accolades.

Stucky led Laramie to the Class 4A state championship with 59 assists, six kills, 21 digs, and one service ace in the title match. It helped the Plainsmen cap a 33-1 season and win their third Class 4A volleyball title in four seasons. Stucky had 801 assists, 210 digs, 158 kills, and 47 service aces during the 2023 season. She was a four-time all-state and all-conference selection by the Wyoming Coaches Association. Stucky finished her career with over 3,000 assists and over 600 kills.

It took us just a few minutes to drive down the road from our office to present Stucky with our Athlete of the Year Award in person. Stucky discussed the honor, reviewed her senior season, how they won another title, keeping the awards coming for the Stucky name, what it meant to play for her mom, and more.

Congratulations to Maddy Stucky!
