More 2026 Season Debuts Highlight Wyoming Legion Baseball Week 2

It is Week 2 of the baseball season for Wyoming Legion teams. Games are spread over five days this week. The schedule includes teams facing regional opponents from out-of-state, the first 9-inning game of the season, and six more teams making their season debut. There are no tournament or round-robin events, only non-conference doubleheaders with one exception.

WYOPREPS WEEK 2 LEGION BASEBALL SCHEDULE 2026

Green River opens its season at home versus Riverton and Cody, who are also starting their seasons. The Laramie JV squad begins with a road twin bill at Wheatland. Finally, two teams opening their season will square off in Casper. The Oilers host Powell in a doubleheader on Sunday. The weather could impact some games.

SATURDAY, APRIL 18:

Final Score: Gillette Rustlers 8 Douglas Cats 1 - The Rustlers scored 2 runs in 4 consecutive innings. Heymer led the Gillette offense with 3 hits & 1 RBI. Hamilton added 2 hits & drove in 1 run. Lawson and Cope allowed 1 unearned run on 2 hits on the bump.

Final Score: Gillette Rustlers 8 Douglas Cats 2 - Gillette built a 4-1 lead and added 4 more runs in the 4th. Lawson had 2 hits & 1 RBI, while Schrock added a 2-run double.

Final Score: Green River Knights 7 Riverton Raiders 6 - The Knights built a 5-3 lead, stretched it to 7-4, and held off a Riverton rally. A line drive ended the game with runners at 2nd & 3rd for the Raiders. GR got 1 hit & 2 RBIs from Mandros and took advantage of 10 walks, 4 stolen bases, and 5 Riverton errors.

Final Score: Riverton Raiders 8 Green River Knights 4 - The Raiders used a 4-run 6th inning to pull out the road split. Baker had 1 hit & 1 RBI. Riverton capitalized on 13 walks, 3 stolen bases, and 2 GR errors.

Final Score: Cheyenne Hawks 14 Cheyenne Eagles 3 - The Hawks scored 11 times in the 2nd & 3rd innings. Shaw had 3 hits (3B) & 3 RBIs, while Wenzel contributed 2 hits (2B) & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Cheyenne Hawks 9 Cheyenne Eagles 4 - A 6-run 4th inning led the Hawks to the sweep. Aragon had 3 hits & drove in 1. Nelson added 1 hit & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Cody Cubs 23 Green River Knights 5 - The Cubs held a 10-5 lead and pulled away with 13 runs in the 3rd inning. They took advantage of 9 walks and 6 errors. Undeberg & Johnston both homered for Cody. Phillips added 3 hits & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Cody Cubs 16 Green River Knights 8 - The Cubs scored in every frame but the 1st. A 6-run 6th inning was the big one. Hartley homered for the Cubs. Phillips had 1 hit & 3 RBIs. Cody benefitted from 9 walks & 5 errors.

Final Score: Rapid City (SD) Post 320 Shooters 12 Gillette Rustlers 2 - The Rustlers were held to 3 hits. They gave up multiple runs in 4 straight innings. Reed had 2 hits & 1 RBI for Gillette.

Final Score: Rapid City Post 320 Shooters 11 Gillette Rustlers 6 - The Shooters scored in every inning. Schrock had a double & 3 RBIs for Gillette.

Final Score: Wheatland Lobos 9 Laramie JV Rangers 6 - Trailing 6-0, Wheatland scored all 9 runs in their last 3 at-bats. Lauck had 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Schaffner had a double & 3 RBIs. Verdecia led Laramie with 3 hits & 2 RBIs.
