WyoPreps Spotlights Two Stars Pitchers at State Baseball [VIDEOS]

Day three of the 2026 Wyoming Legion Baseball Division 1 State Tournament saw some outstanding pitching performances. Blake Ligocki helped the Sheridan Jets to their second upset victory over a No. 2 seed. Braden Pearson followed in the nightcap with a no-hitter in Cheyenne's win over the Sheridan Troopers.

WYOPREPS TALKS WITH TWO STAR PITCHERS AT THE STATE TOURNAMENT

Ligocki threw 106 pitches over 6.1 innings on Sunday. He helped the Sheridan Jets beat the Casper Oilers, 5-4, in an elimination game at Hladky Memorial Stadium in Gillette. Ligocki allowed four runs, three earned, on nine hits. He walked one and struck out five. His effort kept Casper's explosive offense in check. The Jets used one big inning, and then Ligocki held it before Lucas Hutton got the last two outs for the save.

Not to be outdone, Braden Pearson was the show on Sunday night. The veteran Cheyenne Sixers pitcher threw a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts to put Cheyenne into the championship game on Tuesday. Pearson allowed two baserunners on an error and a walk. He also overcame a weather delay of more than one hour.

WyoPreps caught up with the star pitcher after the game.

Not to be outdone, Powell's Caden Diaz had a wonderful effort of 5.2 innings pitched with 11 strikeouts in the Pioneers' victory over Laramie, 7-1.

Monday's games will have the Sheridan Jets taking on the Sheridan Troopers in an elimination game. That's followed by the Cheyenne Sixers facing the Powell Pioneers.
