WyoPreps Preseason Basketball Tour: Sheridan Broncs 2026

Stop No. 3 on the WyoPreps Preseason Basketball Tour in 2025 was to get a glimpse into the Class 4A Sheridan Broncs. It will be a veteran team in the 2025-26 season, as two all-state players and nine varsity letterwinners return for head coach Jeff Martini’s squad. Sheridan won 22 games last season and took third place at the 4A state tournament. The Broncs will be a contender this year.

WYOPREPS PRESEASON BASKETBALL TOUR: SHERIDAN BOYS BASKETBALL

The Broncs return two all-state players in seniors Nate Miner and Back Haswell. Miner averaged 18.7 points and shot 57 percent from the field in the 2024-25 season. He also shot 49 percent from 3-point range and 84 percent at the free-throw line. He’ll be one of the top players in the state this season. Haswell is what coaches call a ‘glue guy.’ He does everything he can to help his team win games. Beck averaged 8.8 points, a team-high 5.4 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game last year. Sheridan lost all-state point guard and 4A defensive player of the year, Connor Bateson. Still, the Broncs return 84 percent of their scoring and 82 percent of their rebounding. Other key contributors will be Tanner Hamrick, Johnny Spielman, and Breck Reed. Sheridan will be one of the top 4A boys’ teams this season.

To preview the Sheridan season, WyoPreps interviewed two players and the head coach

WyoPreps spoke with Miner and Haswell about how practice is going for the Broncs, what the focus has been from Coach Martini and the staff, their high expectations this season, and more. We also got the perspective of Coach Martini. Those interviews are in the video at the top of the story.

Sheridan starts the 2026 season at the Compete Casper Classic with games Thursday through Saturday at the Wyoming Sports Ranch and Ford Wyoming Center. The Broncs will face Douglas, Riverton, and Arvada West from Colorado.
