Lingle’s Brady Cook Has Joined the 1000-Point Club
Lingle-Ft. Laramie’s Brady Cook surpassed 1,000 points in his prep basketball career two weeks ago. The junior accomplished the feat with 21 points in a conference win at Lusk. An all-state selection last year, Cook is a two-time all-conference pick by the coaches. He has helped Lingle to a 14-0 start in the 2025 season and the No. 1 ranking in our WyoPreps Coaches and Media Boys Basketball Poll.
Cook entered this week averaging 18 points per game and shooting 72 percent from the field, which leads the state. He adds 9.1 rebounds, 2.8 steals, and 2.5 blocked shots per game.
Last year, as a sophomore, Cook led Lingle-Ft. Laramie to an overall record of 18-6 in Class 2A. He averaged 18.5 points per game and shot 69 percent from the floor. Cook added 10 rebounds and 3.4 blocks per game. In the 2023-24 season, he broke three school records that dated back to the 1982-83 season. His total field goal percentage of 69.23 bettered the previous mark of 58 percent. Cook also had 83 total blocks for the season, which topped the previous mark of 52, and his 3.46 blocks per game topped the old mark of 2.5. All three of those records were held by Ken Newhouse. Cook scored the most points in a single game last year for boys’ basketball with 41 points against Big Horn on Jan. 6, 2024.
Cook also plays football and runs track at LFL. He completed 70 percent of his passes during the 2024 season and helped the Doggers to a runner-up finish in the Class 1A 9-man football division. In track, Cook was a member of Lingle’s 2024 2A state champion sprint medley relay. He added a third-place finish in the discus and took sixth in the 110 hurdles at the outdoor state track meet.

Congratulations to Brady on 1,000 points and counting in his Dogger career!
