
How the WyoPreps Top 5 Fared in Week 8 of 2025
A few ranked teams were toppled in Week 8 of the 2025 high school basketball season. Eight girls and six ranked boys’ teams suffered at least one loss last week. In 4A girls, the Camels and Broncs had a tough road swing in Cheyenne. Two 3A girls’ teams, Wheatland and Mountain View fell in their only game of the week. Thermopolis and Wyoming Indian also suffered losses among the 2A top five, and both the schools tied for the top five in 1A girls, Southeast and Little Snake River, lost once. On the boys’ side, Thunder Basin lost on the road to another ranked opponent. Lander in 3A had the toughest week with a pair of losses. From 2A, Wyoming Indian and Sundance fell on the road. Finally, in 1A, Lusk lost to another ranked team, while Farson-Eden fell on the first half of a road swing.
This is a look at how the top five girls’ and boys’ teams fared in Week 8. It gives fans, players, and coaches a look at each week’s results for only the teams in the WyoPreps Coaches and Media Basketball Polls.

Girls Basketball Top 5 Recap
4A
1 – Central (2-0) = Won 56-53 vs. #3 Campbell County; Won 51-50 vs. #4 Sheridan.
2 – East (2-0) = Won 48-34 vs. #4 Sheridan; Won 60-40 vs. #3 Campbell County.
3 – Campbell County (0-2) = Lost 56-53 at #1 Central; Lost 60-40 at #2 East.
4 – Sheridan (0-2) = Lost 48-34 at #2 East; Lost 51-50 at #1 Central.
5 – Green River (2-0) = Won 73-40 at Jackson; Won 45-43 at Star Valley.
3A
1 – Pinedale (1-0) = 1 game postponed; Won 78-23 vs. Worland.
2 – Douglas (2-0) = Won 81-35 at Rawlins; Won 78-14 vs. Newcastle.
3 – Cody (2-0) = Won 51-40 at #5 Mountain View; Won 65-49 at Lyman.
4 – Wheatland (0-1) = Lost 57-51 at Buffalo.
