Buffalo High School’s Eli Patterson is furthering his basketball career after committing to the Northwest College Trappers in Powell. Patterson was a four-time all-state selection and four-year starter for the Bison. He helped Buffalo qualify for the 3A basketball state tournament all four years of his prep career. That included a pair of third-place finishes in 2021 and 2022.

During his senior season, Patterson averaged 14.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. He helped the Bison to the 3A Northeast Conference championship in the regular season and a second-place finish at the 3A East Regional tournament. Buffalo finished with an overall record of 14-12 and a 6-0 mark in league games. Patterson shot 45 percent from the field and 76 percent at the free-throw line. He also averaged 3.3 assists and 3.8 steals per game. His steals per game tied him for the top mark in 3A boys’ basketball. Patterson was in the top ten in five statistical categories in 3A. He also passed 1,000 career points during the 2023-24 season.

As a junior in the 2023 season, Patterson averaged 15.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.8 steals, and 1.9 blocked shots per game. Buffalo went 15-10 and qualified for the 3A state basketball tournament. They were 6-0 and won the 3A Northeast Quadrant Conference.

Patterson averaged 12.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 3.6 steals per game as a sophomore during the 2022 season. Buffalo was 19-9 and finished in third place at the state tournament.

In his freshman year of 2021, Patterson contributed 11.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. The Bison went 16-7 that season and placed third at the state tournament.

He was also an all-state football player at Buffalo High School in the 2023 season.
