Christian Mayer scored 4 times, and Alaskan transfers Collin and Colton Powers added fuel to the fire, as the defending 2A state champs would remain undefeated, and knock the Dogies down a peg.

She's got the technique down pretty good. Peyton Manning's passing touchdown record might be short lived.

#1 Big Horn at #3 Newcastle...undefeated vs. undefeated...top 2 offenses in the state in all classes going at it...first quarter...Big Horn wearing the white...and on defense...Dillon Ehlers is looking for somebody...but the only thing he saw at the end of this play was the lights. Andrew Ratty got to him first...and then his buddies would help finish the job. Field position was important in the early goings.

Now the Rams have the ball...Colton Powers hands off to his brother Kerry who goes 1 yard, and the Alaskan transfers would get the defending Wyoming 2A champs on the board...up 7-nothing after the first 12 minutes.

Second quarter...Newcastle would reach into their bag of tricks...first the line change...and then the quarterback never had the ball...it was a direct snap to Ricky Larson, who was probably the smallest person on the field...16 yards to the house and this game is tied up at 7-points a-piece.

It did not stay that way for long...we lost the ball for a moment...then we would look to the far side...it was Christian Mayer...getting lots of blocking along the sideline...he's known better for receiving than he is rushing...in fact this is his first rushing touchdown of the season...77 yards to pay dirt...you will see a lot more from the senior as this game goes on...and he will do what he does best...now it's 13-to-7.

Next possession...Kerry Powers...he leads the team in rushing TD's...this is #14 on a 5 yard run, and the Alaskan has adapted pretty good to the Wyoming style...Big Horn was up 20-to-7 going into the locker room.

Nice book! It's Friday night and the library must be closed. You are not going to find quiet at a game.

3rd quarter...the Rams would reach into their bag of tricks...fake punt...Nolan McCafferty is going to get 32 yards on this play...down to the Newcastle 28 yard line when it was all said and done...he's been learning from his big brother who graduated last year...look out...there's another one in the family.

That would keep the drive alive...and the defense confused...Collin Powers...and he has 2 receivers wide open on this play...Mayer hauls it in for an easy 28 yard score...and the visitors would increase their lead to 27-to-7, and there was still plenty of time to do more.

The fake punt was a nice trick...but here's something better...Seth Kite...halfback option...let's 'er fly...great adjustment by Mayer to make the catch...jukes one tackler and he has a free pass to the promised land...62 yards...Big Horn meant business and it shows on the scoreboard...it's now 34-to-7.

...and they were not done...Collin Powers leads the team is throwing touchdowns...and who do you think he's looking for? Mayer again...on the run..wide open...37 yards...that's 14 receiving TD's for Mayer and 17 TD tosses for Powers...Rams up 41-to-7, going into the final 12 minutes.

4th quarter...the Dogies gave it a try, but the hole they were in was just too deep to get out of...Ehlers will get across the goal line on this 2 yard run, which helped a little bit, but they still trail 41-to-14.

Late in the game...the home team would give it one more try, but this play produced the wrong results...that pass stayed in the air way too long...Brice Beisher rushes in to snag himself an interception, and he's got 98 yards of open sideline room to run...and no one came close to stopping him...we actually lost the junior at the end...but trust us...he got the pick 6. Big Horn would knock Newcastle off of their undefeated perch and serve notice to the rest of the state...final score...49-to-14.
