Not many teams were able to play this past weekend, which made it difficult to figure out where each team should be ranked on the first High School Soccer rankings of the season.

The voters decided in 4A boys, that in order to be #1, you have to beat #1. Defending champ Laramie takes the top spot. The Plainsmen have a difficult task ahead of them this weekend, as they start conference play against the 2 teams tied for #2...Gillette and Sheridan, back to back on the road. Elsewhere, Central has been turning a few heads and they get the #4 ranking, while Kelly Walsh checks in at #5.

Jackson has already established that they are on a mission in 3A. The Broncs only loss last year came in the semi-finals, and Worland was their first victim to start this season. Jackson and #2 Buffalo were supposed to play, this past Saturday, but the snowstorm ruined those ideas. The rest of the rankings have Lander at #3, followed by Star Valley and Powell. The Panthers host SV this weekend.

On the girls side...4A will have an early #1 vs. #2 battle this weekend. Central and East occupy the top 2 spots and will play the first of 2 at Central on Friday. The next 2 teams in the rankings...#3 Sheridan and #4 Laramie...will also do battle vs. each other n Saturday in Laramie. Natrona take the #5 position, heading into the start of conference play.

The voters were impressed with Worland's win vs. Jackson this past weekend...so the Lady Warriors have the #1 spot. #2 Star Valley starts their season Friday at #3 Cody. It's a game in which the Fillies are looking for payback, seeing how they went 0-3 vs. the Lady Braves last year. Lander and Buffalo round out the rankings at #4 and #5.
