The Burlington boys basketball program last won a state title in 2017, the last of 4 consecutive state championships. The Huskies put it all together in 2023 on Saturday in Casper with an impressive 54-35 win over defending champion, Upton. More than anything else, Burlington had a decisive edge in the rebounding category as they out-boarded the Bobcats 39-25 and 15-8 on the offensive glass.

Burlington certainly had some momentum going into the championship game after a thrilling win over undefeated Saratoga in the sem-final round. The Huskies were in a loser-out game at their regional tournament and ground out a victory over Dubois to punch their ticket to State.

Carson Jones and Noah McMakin went a combined 14-23 from the field which was good enough for 30 points. We talked to those two guys plus Grant Winters after the game. They marveled at how well that played with so much at stake on Saturday at the Ford Center.

BTW, we have a few pics of Saturday's contest compliments of Jamie Tippetts in our gallery below. Enjoy!
