The very first sanctioned Girls State Wrestling Tournament was held over the weekend in Casper with a whole lot of fanfare. At 145 pounds, Meadow King of Cheyenne Central prevailed by fall over Cara Andrews of Star Valley for the state title. King was systematic in her approach and it wasn't as easy as the score would indicate.

King has been wrestling forever it seems and also competes at the club level in the off-season. She finished this season with a record of 23-5 and the junior has a tremendous upside moving forward.

We had a chance to talk with this state champion about her match and the whole experience of the first Girls State Tournament
