Cheyenne East Boys Basketball Postgame Remarks

Last season, the Cheyenne East boy's basketball team made the podium at the 4A State Tournament as the 2nd place team. There are not too many smiles on the podium for teams that lose that championship game but the East guys were all smiles this year as they won the state title over Laramie 69-58.

The Thunderbirds had a balanced offensive attack and had 4 guys in double figures. Garet Schlabs, Nathan Mirich, Drew Jackson, and Camden Hayes were solid plus Kysar Jolley had 7 points and 8 rebounds.

East won a 4A state championship for the first time since 2006 and this program has missed the 4A State Tournament just twice since 1985. We had a chance to talk with Schlabs, Mirich, and Jackson after the title game and they were soaking in the experience of a championship season.
