The Cheyenne East football team put themselves in a spot where they can claim the #2 seed in the 4A playoffs following a 36-6 road win over Rock Springs on a chilly Friday night. Rock Springs has a spot in the postseason with their seed to be determined after this week's action.

In this contest on Friday in Sweetwater County. East jumped out to the lead with a Nolan Horton 9-yard touchdown run to put the T-Birds up 7-0. Rock Springs came back with a 4-yard scamper to the end zone from Cammeron Blake to cut the gap to 7-6.

East took command of the game in the 2nd quarter as Horton ran for two more touchdowns from 2 and 10 yards out. Keyshawn Brown added 2 rushing touchdowns in the 2nd half from 1 yard out and 23 yards.

East is now 7-1 and it's a simple scenario for the playoffs. If they beat Campbell County on Friday, they will be the #2 seed. If they lose to the Camels, they will be the #3 seed. Here's the playoff situation for Rock Springs as the Tigers will be in Casper on Friday night to meet Kelly Walsh: No. 5 seed with a win over Kelly Walsh and a Thunder Basin loss to South; No. 6 seed with a win over Kelly Walsh and a Thunder Basin win over South; No. 7 seed with a loss.
