One of the best football games of the year was on Friday night in Casper as Natrona played host to Cheyenne East. Both teams in the top 4 echelon on 4A football. NC looked great to start the game with two first-quarter touchdowns, one on Harrison Taubert to Avery Cox connection for 20 yards and a score, then Taubert found Roman Overstreet for 82 yards and a touchdown.

Cheyenne East rallied in the 2nd half as quarterback Grayden Buell tossed two touchdown passes to Chance Aumiller, one for 16 yards and another for 9. That was the beginning of a huge night for both of those guys in the T-Bird side of the ledger. Sandwiched in between those TDs was a 51 yard run to the end zone from Natrona’s Wilsk Jackson, so at halftime, the Mustangs led 21-14

To the 3rd quarter and Aumiller caught his 3rd touchdown for East, from 5 yards and Natrona answered with a Taubert throwing his 3rd TD pass of the game, this time to Koby Kelly. So the mustangs still led by 7 after 3, 28-21. There was just one touchdown in the 4th quarter and that belonged to Aumiller his 4th of the game and this contest went to overtime tied at 28

Each team found the end zone in the 1st overtime, Overstreet with his 2nd td grab for Natrona and Aumiller had TD grab #5 so it was 35 all

In the 2nd overtime. East quarterback Grayden Buell was picked off by Nolan Valdez which set up a game-winning field goal from Ben Hoppens from 27 yards out. NC wins it 38-35 and withstood unreal performances from Graeden Buell of East who was 27-42 for 393 yards and 5 touchdowns, a top 10 all-time performance in Wyoming high school football. Aumiller caught 5 TD passes for 237 yards. Natrona is 4-1 and will have a huge game at Thunder Basin on Friday. Cheyenne East is 3-2 and will be in Laramie this week.
