Star Valley made the trip over to Cody on Friday for a 4A basketball match-up and the Star Valley boys have been formidable this season. The Braves posted a 64-39 road win as they were sharp from the perimeter. This is a good shooting team that hits 48% of their shots from 2-point range and 35% from 3-point range. Star Valley connected on a dozen 3-pointers vs. Cody. They have been led in scoring by Max Jensen who has been averaging 12 points a game with Dylan Shumway and Cooper Lancaster throwing in 10 per game. The Braves also beat Riverton on that long road swing and sits at 13-3 on the year. The Broncs are 5-9 on the year and have been paced by Chase Hatch at 12 points per game.

The Cody girls are in prime position to repeat as 4A state champions as they are 13-1 on the year. The Fillies got 30 points from Molly Hayes in their 65-42 win over Star Valley. She missed a bit of time with a broken nose so Hays has been sporting a protective mask. Ellie Talich and Grace Hays have been averaging in double figures so this group is going to be tough to beat. Star Valley is 8-8 on the season and got 16 points in the Cody game from Kenlee Engelhardt and she has been averaging 11 points and 5 rebounds per contest. Emily Dana has been productive as well averaging 8 points and 7 boards per game. The Star Valley boys and girls will host Kelly Walsh on Friday and Rock Springs on Saturday. The Cody boys and girls will be at Evanston on Friday and travel to Green River on Saturday.
