Cokeville senior Emmie Barnes is part of the 1,000-point club in high school basketball.

Barnes has enjoyed a stellar career for the Panthers in multiple sports.

On the basketball court, she’s a three-time all-state and all-conference selection. She’s helped Cokeville to the last three Class 1A state basketball championship.

Barnes actually eclipsed the mark during her junior season in the semifinals at last year’s 1A state basketball tournament in the Panthers’ win over Southeast. She followed that up with a 33-point, 7-rebound effort in the title game, as Cokeville beat Upton, 62-48.

During her senior season, Barnes has scored 206 points thus far and is average 18.7 points per game, which leads Class 1A. She adds 7.5 rebounds per game. That’s helped the Panthers to a 7-5 start to this season.

In her junior campaign, Barnes scored 364 points and averaged 15.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. She shot 43 percent from the field. Cokeville was 19-4 last season and 8-0 in conference games.

As a sophomore, Barnes scored 343 points and averaged 14.3 points per game. She helped the Panthers to a 24-2 overall record and the 1A title, as Cokeville beat Kaycee, 46-33, for the championship.

In her freshman season, Barnes scored 328 points and averaged 11.7 points per game. That helped the Panthers to a 26-2 overall record. They beat Arvada-Clearmont for the title in the 2018-19 season, 64-40.

Barnes is at 1,241 career points and counting. She has also finished in the top five in scoring in Class 1A the last two seasons.

The senior also participates in volleyball and track and field. Barnes was an all-state volleyball player in 2021 and helped Cokeville to a runner-up finish in Class 1A last November. The Panthers were 21-13 last season. She’s a two-time all-state performer in track and field. Barnes has finished runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles and the triple jump at the state track championships.
