Cort Catlin of Thunder Basin Commits to Black Hills St.
Thunder Basin High School super-athlete Cort Catlin has committed to the Black Hills State football program in Spearfish, South Dakota. Not many guys were All-State performers in 2 different positions, but Catlin was one of them. He was one of the leading tacklers in 4A from the linebacker spot in 2024 with 103 and 38 of them were solo. Catlin was a solid tight end on offense and caught 30 balls for 321 yards and a touchdown, averaging 43 all-purpose yards per game.
In his junior season, Catlin was an All-State pick at tight end with 22 grabs for 293 yards and two touchdowns. He rang up 64 tackles on defense, 25 of them solo, a fumble recovery, and two interceptions.
Catlin is an outstanding wrestler and is approaching 100 wins in his career. As a junior, he placed 2nd in the 4A State Tournament at 190 pounds with a record of 30-4. Catlin was a 4A State champion in his sophomore season at 195, going 26-8, and placed 3rd at 170 pounds with a record of 23-14.
Black Hills State is a Division II school that competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
