Wyoming High School Championship Golf Returns to Evanston for Class 2A [VIDEO]
The last two days of the 2026 Wyoming High School Golf season are Tuesday and Wednesday, with the Class 2A state championships. WyoPreps spoke to the host head coach to gain some insight into what to expect in this classification. We discussed preparations as a host, not playing your home course, how the golf course will be set up for high school players, the challenges the players will face, and a breakdown of Class 2A.
Our preview for Class 2A is with Kemmerer head coach Jennifer Benson. WyoPreps discussed hosting this event out of town, as they will play the Purple Sage Golf Course in Evanston, instead of in Kemmerer. Benson also coaches both of 2A's defending champions, Tazlyn Wagner for the girls, and Trevan Benson, her son, for the boys.
It will be 36 holes of medal play. The first round is on Tuesday, and the final round is on Wednesday. The top 10 players and ties in each class will earn all-state awards for the 2026 season. Good luck to all the players and teams!
Classes 3A and 4A had their championships last Friday and Saturday. Addison Bettinger and Tate Nichols were the medalists in 3A, and Addie Plassmeyer and Jaxon Burr won 4A. Wheatland swept the 3A team title, while the Kelly Walsh girls and Thunder Basin boys prevailed in 4A.
