Cross country has six different venues for the first weekend of racing.

One of the most unique races in the state will go down in Star Valley this weekend.  The Dairy-Air takes place on the boyhood farm of Cross-Country coach Ty Draney.   It includes a water slide, a mud bog  and many colorful costumes worn by the runners.  Some of last year's highlighted costumes included Luke & Leia worn by twins Nic and Hannah Demler, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as well as Batman & Robin.

The Dairy-Air has team trophies for both boys and girls but also
awards the Tygee Cup, a full-sized milk-can, to the team with the best
combined score.  Teams who were in attendance last year included Star
Valley, Soda Springs, Idaho, Teton, Idaho, Rock Springs and Jackson
Hole.

Other events will be on Casper Mountain with the Bear Trap Meadow race, Buffalo, Cody, Newcastle, and Green River.

Jules Ward of Thermopolis and Kalbi Ausman of Newcastle are back to defend girls titles in 2A and 3A while Brody Smith is also back to defend the 3A title he won for Cody.  Laramie's Chris Henry returns to 4A where he won last year as well.
