PhotoFest: Douglas Defeats Evanston in 3A Football Playoffs

The playoffs in football have finally arrived and Douglas earned the #1 seed from the East in 3A and played host to the #4 seed from the West, Evanston on Friday night. Douglas controlled this game pretty much from start to finish en route to a 31-14 victory.

Douglas scored first in the contest as Carter Archuleta barreled into the end zone for the touchdown. The extra point was missed so the Cats led 6-0. Douglas used some razzle-dazzle later in the first half as quarterback Collins Roberts threw to Cash Tilliard who threw to Jarret Jones for an easy touchdown and with the successful 2-point try, the Cats had a 14-0 lead

Archuleta kept the foot on the gas with a pair of touchdown runs in the 2nd half. Evanston countered with a couple of touchdown catches to Ryker Pace but the Red Devils needed more than that.

Douglas is at 7-2 and has made the playoffs every year since 2022. They will host Cody in the 3A semi-final round on Friday night, and during the regular season, Cody clobbered Douglas 49-0.
