If Douglas wanted to be a 3A contender this season in football, they needed a win on Friday to start the engines. The Bearcats did just that with a 20-13 victory over Riverton to get to 2-2 on the year, rebounding from big losses to Cody and Powell.

The Cats made the plays they needed to make with plenty of 2-way players making significant contributions. Cash Tillard was all over the place and so was Carter Archuleta. He was an All-State linebacker last season and just plain has a nose for the ball. He's also a bruising running back and makes people pay when he has the ball.

Collin Roberts has displayed progress at the quarterback spot with the agility and size that you need at that position. In addition to that, he's been lurking around the Douglas secondary.

We talked with Archeluta and Roberts after the win over Douglas and this win took a big load off their shoulders.
