The Douglas Bearcats were trying to put a season-opening loss to Buffalo in the rear field mirror as they played host to Belle Fourche, South Dakota on Friday night. It was quite an entertaining 1st quarter with Douglas beginning the scoring on a 24 yard TD pass from AJ Yeaman to Cooper The cats struck again in the opening quarter as Yeaman found Sutton Perry for 40 yards and a TD to bump the lead to

But Belle Fourche went toe to toe with Douglas with 2 touchdowns of their own in the opening quarter as so after 1, Douglas trailed 14-13. The bearcats really got going in the 2nd quarter a Yeaman had a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs so the game had a different complexion at halftime as the cats led 28-14.

Belle Fourche added a 3rd quarter touchdown to cut the gap to 28-21 but Douglas put the game away in the 4th quarter with 3 touchdowns. Yeaman had a 60-yard gallop. Blake Travnicek got into the end zone from 12 yards out then Jason Archuleta come up an interception return for a touchdown.

Douglas gets to 1-1 on the year with a 49-21 win over Belle Fourche. The  Cats will have their first road game at Powell on Friday
