Dubois Boys Basketball with High Hopes in 2021-22
A year ago, Dubois qualified for the 1A State Tournament and ended up taking 4th place so they had a nice run at the end of the season to finish 10-8. The Rams started out this season with a win over Riverside and losses to Saratoga and Rocky Mountain in the Shoshoni tournament over the weekend. That game with Rocky Mountain was entertaining as the Rams lost in overtime 57-55 with Ryan Wells throwing in 35 points. Well is a returning all-conference player from a year and is also an all-state football player.
Max Claar provides some bulk in the high traffic areas around the rim and he was named all-state in basketball last season and is a two-time all-state selection in football. So the athleticism is there but they have to be consistent. This team has 8 upperclassmen so they should be a tough opponent.
We talked with Wells and Claar after their 51-37 win over Riverside. A win is a win but they know they can get better.
