Buffalo senior Emi Wagner had a meet to remember at the 2019 Class 3A Wyoming High School Girls’ Swimming and Diving State Championships.

She won two individual events, was part of two victorious relays and was part of a three-way tie for ‘Athlete of the Meet’ honors last weekend in Gillette.

Wagner chatted with WyoPreps after the state championships in the video above. She talked about the overall performance, her two wins, including coming from behind in the 100 freestyle race, her key to success and that of the team, and her senior year.

Wagner captured the 50 freestyle in 24.32 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 54.29 seconds. She wasn’t even ranked in the top three in either of those events entering the championships. She also swam a leg on the victorious 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays.

Those efforts helped Buffalo finish runner-up as a team.
