Encampment basketball player Dalton Peterson will be taking his skills to the junior college level as he had committed to Casper College. He is a three-time 1A all-state selection and in his senior year, Peterson averaged 21 points and 9 rebounds per game. He shot 44% from the floor and 80% from the free-throw line. Plus, he was an excellent shooter from three-point range at a 40% clip. During the 2020-21 season, Peterson had a 38 point game vs. Dubois and a 38 point game against Southeast.

In his junior year, the 6-3 guard rang up 20 points and 9 rebounds per game shooting nearly 50% from the field and 81% from the line. He was a marksman from the land of 3, connecting on 43% of his shot as his Encampment team went 25-2 and took 3rd at the 1A state tournament. His season-high was a 44 point effort against St. Stephens.

His sophomore season was impressive as well, throwing in 17 points a game along with 7 rebounds per contest. His shooting percentages: 51% from the floor, 41% from 3, and 80% from the charity stripe. The Tiger team in the 2018-19 season went 23-3 and placed 2nd at the state tourney.

Peterson averaged 16 points and 4 rebounds per game in his freshman year as his team posted a 19-8 record and a 3rd place finish at state. He also enjoyed a great season in football for Encampment in 2020 with 20 rushing touchdowns and led the team in tackles with 134
