Greybull Boys Looking to Make Big Step Forward
Last season, the Greybull boys basketball team qualified for the 2A State Tournament, for only the 2nd time in the last 7 years. The Buffs went 0-2 in the tournament and 13-13 overall but also provided motivation for the 2023-24 season.
Greybull is returning a talented all-state player in Carlos Rodriguez who averaged 14.8 points a game last season along with 9 rebounds per game. He also played Legion baseball with Lovell so the young man has a lot of ability. Cody Henderson is a returning all-conference selection and he too averaged 14 points a game last season. That's a 1-2 offensive punch that makes Greybull dangerous even though they lost 3 of 4 in the Coal Miners Classic Tournament over the weekend. 2A will be competitive this season and the Buffs figure they will be right in the mix.
We talked with Rodriguez and Henderson after they posted a 49-35 win over Kaycee on Friday and that was a good way to bounce back from a loss earlier in the day to Wright.
