Greybull Girls Basketball Season Preview 2022 [VIDEO]

Last season the Greybull Buffs girls’ basketball team endured a tough season. They’re hoping the 'lessons learned' pay off into a better year this season.

Greybull was the fourth stop on the WyoPreps preseason basketball tour. Our David Settle had a chance to visit with two seniors and head coach Kyndra Goton.

The Buffs finished last season with a 3-12 overall record. They went 1-5 in the 2A Northwest Quadrant and did not make the 2A state basketball tournament.

WyoPreps talked with seniors Elaina Howe and Grace Sanford, plus coach Goton after a recent morning practice. Howe and Sanford described a determination in the small group the Buffs have this season, plus an emphasis on finishing at the basket and a focus on defense. Coach Goton said her team is working hard. She sees them improving, but with a younger team, they’ll have to scrap for everything they get.

The Buffs open at the Herder Classic in Glenrock on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 10 and 11, 2021. Greybull plays No. 1 Wyoming Indian, the host school, Glenrock, Wright, and St. Stephens.
