The boy's athletic program at HEM has been blessed with two terrific all-around athletes in Conor and Shane McGraw. Their exploits on the football field, the basketball court and in track has been well documented. The Miners have now qualified for the 1A State Basketball Tournament 5 years on a row and finished this season 14-10. In the opening round of the state tournament, they ran into a buzz saw in Encampment and lost 66-42. The Miners had a tough shooting day, going just 18% from the floor in the first half. For the game, Shane McGraw was tremendous with 19 points and 20 rebounds, Devon Grosstick added 12. In the consolation round, HEM was eliminated by Lingle-Fort Laramie 50-41. This time, Grosstick led the way with 17 on 5-17 from the 3 point line.

For the season, Conor McGraw was named all-state for the 3rd year in a row. He averaged 15 points a game with Shane McGraw and Devon Grosstick named all-conference along with Brandon Reeves. They averaged 9 and 11 points per contest respectively. The Miners will be in rebuilding mode for next year with the McGraw boys graduating as well as Reeves. The team will build around Grosstick who was a junior this season.
