The semifinal and consolation games are on tap for the second day in our fan-voted 3A/4A boys’ state basketball tournament.

What happened on the first day? The 3A boys’ first-round game between Big Piney and Torrington turned out to be the game that received the most votes and produced the tightest margin. The Punchers edged the Blazers by 1.5 percent. The voting was decided by 22 votes. Worland, Lander, and Rawlins all enjoyed comfortable margins and join Big Piney in the semis. The others fall into consolation games.

There weren’t any close class in the 4A boys’ first round. In a mild upset (seed-wise), Cheyenne East knocked out defending champ Kelly Walsh. Meanwhile, Thunder Basin, Sheridan, and Star Valley advance. The Braves were behind early in the polling but rallied for a win.

It’s time to see who you think would win consolation and semifinal action. Cast your vote now. Voting closes tonight.
