Winning rodeo championships is becoming quite common in the Lance Creek area.

Jordan Thurston-Miller, a Lance Creek native and 2009 graduate from Niobrara County High School in Lusk, won her second Goat Tying College Rodeo National Championship, at the 2013 College National Finals Rodeo, in Casper.

The Gillette College senior and 2010 college national champ, turned in a time of 24.8 seconds on four runs combined, to win the event by 0.9 seconds.

Thurston-Miller is also a 4-time high school state champion.

Her uncle, Jason Miller, is the 2007 World Champ in Steer Wrestling.
