Wyoming Rodeo Contestants Heat Up During Big Piney, Newcastle Stops
The Wyoming High School rodeo spring season is halfway done. The last two stops were in Big Piney and Newcastle. Trenton Rogers of Laramie had a terrific two weeks, as he won all four performances in Bareback Riding. Tuff Weber from Baggs won two rounds of Bull Riding and Steer Wrestling over the two weekends. He was also second in Trap Shooting at Big Piney. They are just two of the standout contestants over the last two weekends.
WYOPREPS HIGH SCHOOL RODEO RECAPS OF BIG PINEY AND NEWCASTLE
Stetson St. Clair from Crowheart won both rounds of Team Roping, plus the second round of Bull Riding in Newcastle. He added a runner-up in Bull Riding in Newcastle on Day One, and was second on Day Two at Big Piney in Bull Riding. Lander’s Emma Martin finished first in one performance of barrel racing and pole bending and was second in the same events in different performances. Gillette’s Abby Millburg-Holcomb posted two victories in Saturday’s performance at Big Piney and Newcastle.
Six stops lead up to the state finals in Buffalo at the Johnson County Fairgrounds, June 1 through June 6, 2026. Last September, contestants competed in four rodeos in Laramie, Riverton, Wheatland, and Rawlins to start the season.
Rodeo contestants will compete at Gillette’s High School Rodeo this weekend.
