Kaycee’s Jason Humble Enshrined in WCA Hall of Fame
Jason Humble's first year as the boy's basketball coach at Kaycee was back in 1993. Since then, he has rung up a career record of 462-247. His Buckaroo teams won state championships in 1999 and 2018. That '99 team went a remarkable 22-1. In fact, the Kaycee boys basketball program has been one of the most consistent in the state under Humble's supervision. Currently, the Bucs have 11 straight winning seasons. His teams have missed the 1A State Tournament just twice since 1996.
Among his achievements; Wyoming Coach of the Year Twice and the 1A Northeast Coach of the Year 13 times. You don't win over 400 games without some intuitive knowledge on how to manage young athletes on or off the floor. In nearly 30 years of work, he has influenced countless students. You'll also see Mr. Humble on the sidelines coaching football and also has coached track and volleyball.
Humble joins John Hepp from Douglas/Buffalo, Scott McKenzie of Powell, and Brad Dekrey of Rock Springs as the Wyoming Coaches Association Hall of Fame inductees for 2020. The 2020 and 2021 classes were both enshrined in July in Casper at the WCA annual banquet. Tim Eisenbarth of South and Jacque Pike of Worland was also inducted for their work at the Middle School and Junior High level.
Mr. Humble always has been humble about his multitude of accomplishments and we had a few moments to chat with him about his induction and his outstanding career. Enjoy!
