Lander played host to their huge wrestling meet over the weekend with defending 3A state champion star valley winning the team title with 258 points. Powell was 2nd with 185, Worland placed 3rd with 175.5. Douglas was in the 4 spot with 129 points and Lyman 5th with 122.5

At 106 pounds,  Worland junior Anthony Martinez took first with a 5-0 win over Colt Jacobsen of Powell. Sefton Douglass who is a defending state champion from Lyman was victorious at 113 pounds with win over Jacob Guild from Star Valley.

Rylan Weir from Douglas prevailed at 120 pounds with a 6-3 win over Colton Gehlhaussen from Pinedale and at 126, Pinedale’s Cody Phelps placed first thanks to a 12-1 major decision over Colter Julian from Kemmerer.

Moving over to 132, Kemmerer star and defending state champ Dawson Schramm wins by fall over Brayden Andrews from Star Valley while at 138, the winner there was Corey Linebaugh of Powell, beating Haze Child of Star Valley by fall.

Defending state champion Ridge Briggs from Riverton won the 145-pound group with a pin over Hagen Lamoreaux of Lyman. Powell’s Seth Horton earned a major decision over Keegan Gehlhauusen of Pinedale. The final there was 14-3.

Wheatland’s Seth Dewitt has been cruising along this season and he takes the podium at 160 pounds with a pin over Luke Goncalves of Worland. Then at 170, it was Lander’s Jack Sweeney taking the championship with a solid win over Boe Clayson of Burns-Pine Bluffs 8-6.

Wind River’s Colton Befus was the titlist at 182 pounds with a tough 3-2 win over Dawson Stinson from Douglas. At 195, Trent Clark of Star Valley, the winner there thanks to a 7-5 win over Charlie Beaudrie of Cody. That was an all-star match.

Defending state champion Cody Pinkerton defeated Logan Cole of Thermopolis by a pin another all-star match at 220 and at the heavyweight spot, Star Valley’s Parker Merritt takes the gold with a pine of Buffalos Hunter Pope
