The Fall 2015 Sports Season is ready to go!

Golf Begins First

Six sports are played in Wyoming during the fall. Golf will be the first to compete as the first tournaments get underway Thursday and Friday. Golf waives the mandatory ten practice rule given the nature of the sport and the fact that most, if not all, of the kids have been playing all summer anyway. Events this first weekend in Golf will be in Cody and Powell, Riverton, Cheyenne, and Wheatland. Full results of each will be on the website Friday night, a preview of the golf season will be coming soon.

Other Sports:

The rest of the sports; Cross Country, Tennis, Swimming, Volleyball and Football will wait until next Friday for their first events. We are currently working on complete fall schedules for each school on the team pages of wyopreps.com. Click on Teams above, then the region, then the school you wish to see. More are added everyday so keep looking back.

Pre-Season Football Rankings

Tomorrow (August 19th) we will release the pre-season, Wyopreps.com Coaches and Media football rankings. It's an early peek to see what the newspaper and TV/radio sports guys, along with the head coaches have on their mind as to who is the team to beat.

Last year’s Champions were Natrona, Cody, Mountain View, Cokeville, and Guernsey. Only the Panthers and Vikings were pre-season #1 choices who went on to win it all. The other champions were all ranked in the top three of their division in the first polls. Again, we''ll post those rankings to the website first thing in the morning Wednesday, August 19th.

If you are a coach or media person and wish to take part, email gabe@wyopreps.com and we will get you set up!

Stat Archive:

Ever wondered how your stats stack up to someone from a few years ago? Football has now been added to the WyoPreps Stat Archives. This includes 6 classes (remember 5A?) as well as the statewide top ten stats from about 2007 forward. Some classes go further back than 2007. Boys and Girls Basketball will be added in the near future. 4A Volleyball stats are already posted to the stat archive page.

FNS:

The Friday Night Scoreboard show returns to the radio and internet on Friday, September 4th. The FNS is an hour long run down of every game in the state on Friday nights. We will post a story that has FNS Affiliates listed so you can keep up to date while on the road as well as a link to listen online. We have stations in Cody, Riverton, Green River, Wheatland, Torrington, Casper, Laramie, Cheyenne, Sundance, and Kemmerer on board and looking for more. Call your local station and ask them to carry the FNS Friday Night's this fall.
