Lyman Posts Big Home Win Over Burns in 2A Football
The Lyman Eagles football team has qualified for the 2A playoffs in 14 of the last 16 years and made it to the semi-final round in the last two seasons. The Eagles also won State Championships in 2020 and 2021 so they have a winning culture with some very physical players. Lyman lost their week zeo football game to Malad, Idaho 6-0, and ended up taking out those frustrations on the Burns Broncs last week.
The Eagles turned in a strong effort on both sides of the ball to post a 48-6 win. There is no shortage of motivation for this year's team after going 8-3 in 2023 and losing to Big Horn in the 2A semi-finals.
Burns on the other hand went 1-8 last season and have qualified for the postseason just twice in the last 10 years. The good news for the Broncs is that they have a ton of returning starters so the experience level will certainly help them this season. Another good sign for Burns is that have far more players than a year ago.
We have some great photos of the Lyman-Burns game compliments of Dell Barnes and they can be located in our gallery below. Enjoy!
