The annual Oil Bowl football game between the Casper schools was held on Friday night as Kelly Walsh played host to Natrona. Both teams were 3-3 in the 4A ranks coming into the game and the winner had an inside track to a first-round home playoff date.

The teams played to a stalemate in the first quarter and Natrona opened up the contest with a pair of touchdowns. The first one was a 5-yard run for a score from Tyler Palermo and Rogan Potter caught a 35-yard TD pass from Kanei Olsen. The Mustangs led 13-0 at halftime and never looked back.

Palermo scored again from the 2-yard line in the third quarter, and Potter caught another touchdown pass in the fourth quarter that covered 11 yards. The NC defense was stout and has been the backbone of the team all year long. The Mustangs take home the Oil Bowl trophy with a 27-0 victory.

Natrona gets to 4-3 and will be on the road at Cheyenne South this week. KW is 3-4 and will be in Cheyenne as well to take on Central. We have a fantastic collection of photographs from the 2024 Oil Bowl, courtesy of Libby Ngo and Shannon Dutcher. You can find them in our gallery below. Enjoy!
