Big Piney is certainly in the conversation for a 1A 9-Man state title and the Punchers improved to 5-1 with a 26-7 road win over Shoshoni on Thursday afternoon. One of those wins was a forfeit against St. Stephens and their lone loss came to Wind River.

Karsyn Gyrr had a great game for Big Piney on Thursday with a trio of touchdowns. He grabbed a pair of touchdown balls for 25 yards and 20 yards respectively, plus a 69-yard punt return for a touchdown. The Puncher defense did the rest and that's a tough unit to deal with. Big Piney will be at home this week vs. Wyoming Indian.

It's been a tough season for Shoshoni with a record of 1-5 and their lone win came in a forfeit over St. Stephens. The Wranglers lost a lot of elite talent from last season and have scored less than 10 points in 3 of their games so far this season. They have a tough game coming up on Friday down the road in Pavillion to take on Wind River.
