Cheyenne East is the top-ranked team in 4A football and all five of their wins have been lopsided affairs with the T-Birds crushing Rock Springs on Friday 68-7. East was magnificent right out the gate yet again as they scored 48 points in the first quarter. The onslaught started with quarterback Cam Hayes throwing a 30-yard touchdown pass to Nathan Mirich. Hayes also threw a TD ball to Renton Jensen that went for 50 yards. If that's not all, Hayes had a 5-yard run for a score. Jensen had a tremendous 1st quarter with 3 touchdowns and the East special teams scored on a 75-yard punt return from Drew Jackson and the defense chipped in too with a 14-yard pick-six from Wyatt Dean.

East led by 55 at halftime so it was another quick game with a running clock. The lone score for Rock Springs came from Michael Faigl in the 3rd quarter.

East will have their biggest challenge of the season when they host #2 Sheridan on Friday night. Rock Springs is 1-4 and the Tigers have a home game this week vs. Natrona.
