PhotoFest! Pinedale Nordic Ski Meet

The Nordic ski season moved along last week in Pinedale and the season will progress quickly. In the girl's Classic race, Raina Wachob of Cody took the podium with a time of 30:17.71 She placed 2nd at the 2024 3A State Cross Country Meet so distance running and Nordic skiing go hand in hand. The girl's runner-up in the Classic race was Kayley Alicke from Sheridan in 30:52.94, and Kelly Walsh's Julia Veauthier was 3rd, coming in at 30:53.64. Sadie Wachob of Cody was 4th and Pinedale's Olivia Tolson was 5th.

In the boy's Classic race, the victor was Kalel Brubaker of Natrona with a time of 24:01.25. He took 5th place at the 4A State Cross Country Meet. Jackson Mayer of Jackson course in 24:46.52 for 2nd place and Natrona's Hunter Pickett was 3rd in 24:58.85. Karsten Bessonette from Jackson was 4th and William Blair of NC was 5th.

In the girl's Freestyle event, Sheridan's Kayley Alicke took 1st place in 22:23 and she was the 9th place finisher at the 4A State Cross Country Meet. Olivia Tolson of Pinedale was 2nd in 23:17 and Cody's Raina Wachob was 3rd in 23:19. Tirzah Ellis from Jackson was 4th and Hailee Schramm of Cody was 5th and she took 3rd at the 3A State Cross Country Meet.

Finally, in the boy's freestyle race, Jackson Mayer of Jackson won the gold medal in 19:20 with Kalel Brubaker of Natrona right behind him for 2nd in 19:46 and his teammate William Blair was 3rd in 19:49. Hunter Pickett of NC was 4th and Jackson's William Baxter was 5th.
