The State 3A Golf Tournament concluded over the weekend in Worland with some historic achievements. Riverton's Parker Paxton, probably the best prep golfer in the state won his 4th consecutive state title. He joined an elite company of 3 to 4-peat as state champion and Paxton had to earn title #4. He shot 68 in the first round and backed that up with a 65 in the final round to edge Ryker Lind of Evanston by two strokes. Lind recorded rounds of 69 & 66. Tate Nichols of Wheatland was 3rd finishing 7 strokes back after rounds of 72-68. Riverton's Brodie Dale was 4th shooting 72 and 74 and was 5th at the state tournament a year ago. Brody Hamby of Pinedale placed with and he was 15th a year ago. He carded rounds of 73 & 75.

Another legendary prep golfer in Wyoming is Erika Cook from Lovell. She won her 4th straight state title by 5 strokes with rounds of 78-72. She's had a remarkable career and beat out Isabell Salas of Green River who shot 77 and 78. Lily Nichols of Wheatland was 3rd carding 79 and 83. The top 3 in this year's 3A tournament are the same as the top 3 in the 2022 tournament. Finishing 4th this year was Macy Jones of Wheatland shooting 87-80 and she finished in a tie for 3rd a year ago. Cody's Adelie Hall was 5th with a 90 & 75 and she took 6th at the state tournament in 2022.

In the team race for the boys, Riverton won the 3A championship for the 3rd year in a row with 606, Evanston was 2nd with 620, and Wheatland was 3rd with 647. The Wheatland girls also made it 3 titles in a row with 506 strokes. Evanston was 2nd with 539 and Riverton 3rd with 555.
