Two longtime rivals meet on the gridiron once again as Wheatland played host to Torrington in 2A play on Friday. Torrington suffered back-to-back losses to Nebraska schools to start the season but now are 2-2 on the year after beating Wheatland 14-7.

The Blazers assumed the lead in the opening quarter on a 1-yard run from Bryce Hager so at this point it was 7-0. Scoring was scarce as both defenses came to play but Wheatland found the end zone in the 2nd quarter on a 50-yard pass TD pass from  Brock Peasley to Bryce Stenson so it was 7 all at the halftime break.

The 2nd half was a defensive struggle but Torrington broke through in the 4th quarter as Hager tossed a 19-yard touchdown pass to Landre Greiman to make it 14-7. That's the way it stayed and Torrington has a big challenge this week as they will host defending 2A champion Big Horn on Friday. Wheatland is now 1-3 on the year with a road game coming up on Friday in Glenrock.
